Working Groups

The OpenHW Group is a not-for-profit, global organization driven by its members and individual contributors where hardware and software designers collaborate in the development of open-source cores, related IP, tools and software. OpenHW provides an infrastructure for hosting high quality open-source HW developments in line with industry best practices.

The projects and activities within the OpenHW Group are managed by two standing committees: the Technical Working Group and the Marketing Working Group including sub Task Groups therein.

Technical Working Group

The Technical Working Group has the mandate to drive the overall technical direction, development roadmap and project execution for all technology related activities within the OpenHW Group. In doing so, the following sub Task Groups have been established.

Task groups

Cores Task Group

The Cores Task Group has the mandate to develop feature and functionality roadmap and the open-source IP for the cores within the OpenHW Group such as the CORE-V Family of open-source RISC-V processors. Existing cores Task Group projects can be found here.

Verification Task Group
